How to create a hygge morning routine
1. Wake up early
One of the most important things you can do to create a hygge morning routine is to wake up early.
By waking up before the rest of the world, you can take your time and enjoy the quiet moments of the morning.
You’ll feel more relaxed and centered, which will set the tone for the rest of your day.
Meditation is a powerful tool for reducing stress and anxiety.
By incorporating a short meditation session into your morning routine, you can start your day feeling calm and focused.
Try to meditate for at least 10 minutes each morning, focusing on your breath and clearing your mind. That’s what I do, and it helps me be more focused.
3. Light some candles
The soft glow of the candles will help you relax and feel more at ease.
I mostly do this in the winter when it’s cold and dark outside, but you can do it all year round if you want.
Take a few minutes each morning to write down your thoughts and feelings. This can help you clear your mind and set intentions for the day ahead.
You can write about anything that comes to mind, from gratitude to goals.
5. Drink a cup of tea
Drinking a cup of tea is a great way to start your day. Choose a soothing herbal tea like chamomile or peppermint or try Oolong tea – that’s my favourite.
Sip slowly and enjoy the warm and calming feeling.
6. Healthy breakfast
Eating a healthy breakfast is essential for starting your day off on the right foot.
Choose foods that are nourishing and satisfying, like eggs and whole-grain toast or a smoothie bowl with fresh fruit and nuts.
7. Turn on relaxing music
Listening to music can help you feel more relaxed and at ease.
Choose music that soothes your senses, like classical piano or instrumental jazz. Play it softly in the background while you go about your morning routine.
8. Put on teddy slippers and a warm robe
Wearing comfy clothes can help you feel more relaxed and cozy.
Slip into a pair of fuzzy slippers and wrap yourself up in a warm and soft robe.
9. Make a hyggekrog
A hyggekrog is a small nook or corner where you can relax and unwind.
Create your own hyggekrog by setting up a cosy spot with soft pillows, a warm blanket, and some books or magazines.
10. Turn off your phone
Finally, one of the most important things you can do to create a hygge morning routine is to disconnect from technology.
Turn off your phone, computer, and other devices for at least an hour in the morning.
This will help you feel more present and connected to the world around you.
